The first Kelly Country Festival was held in October 2009 to signify the essence of a bygone era and to highlight aspects of our local history, culture, art, produce and wines as well as the Warby Ovens National Park, Wangaratta and itthe region.
Live entertainment from “Sal Kimber & the Rollin Wheels” got everyones feet tapping while they enjoyed the local wine & produce. The children were entertained with pony rides, jumping castle and fun activities just to name a few.
Local artists’ creations were apreciated at the ‘Contrasts’ art exhibition located at the Old Police Station.
For the first time in thirty years many visitors witnessed the re-enactment of Ned Kelly’s “Last Stand”.
So keep your eye on this website to find out about the next festival which is currently planned for 2011. In the mean time come and experience the amazing delights of our region only 2.5 hours from Melbourne. Visit Wangaratta, Glenrowan and the Warbey Ovens National Park. For golfers we have two beautiful and very different country courses Wangaratta Golf Club and Jubilee Golf Club.
